Oat Bran Porridge Recipe

What Is Oat Bran And Why Should You Eat Oat Bran Porridge?

Oat bran is a nutritious cereal made using the outer membrane of the oats. It is rich in fibre that feeds the gut bacteria, this in return increases the growth of the healthy bacteria. These beneficial bacteria ferment the fibres in oat bran and producing short chain fatty acids that colon cells use for energy.

Ingredients for Oat Bran Porridge:

40gr oat bran

250ml of water or milk

A pinch of sea salt

1 tablespoon chopped dates- Optional

1 tablespoon tahini-Optional

Cinnamon to serve.

Method:

Put the oat bran and water or milk with the salt in a pan and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring.

Once thickened add in the chopped dates if using, stir and remove from heat.

Pour in your servng bowl swirl in the tahini paste and dust with cinnamon.
